The London Heathrow Airport and Gatwick are 45 miles apart from each other. But, shuffling between these two on a normal day will only take around a good hour of travel. London is the capital and the largest city in England and the United Kingdom.  It is one of the busiest cities in the world.  Talking about London airports there are six airports in the city.  The main airports are London Heathrow Airport, London Gatwick Airport, London Stansted Airport, London Luton Airport, and the London City Airport. 

Millions of people around the world choose to visit London just to explore all its beautiful sights and attractions. Although there are many airports in London, people have many options to travel in and around London.  If you are visiting London for the first time and you have to go from London Heathrow Airport to Gatwick there are a few ways that you can choose from.

 The London Heathrow Airport and the Gatwick Airport are two major airports in London they don't have any direct tube or road that connects the two. The road Journey between the London Heathrow Airport and Gatwick with less traffic, will take 50 to 60 minutes. Two motorways are interconnecting these two airports are Motorways M25 and M23.  Those who are going to take the London Heathrow Airport to the Gatwick airport through the motorway M25 can take the Junctions between 11 and 10.  These Travelers are also advised to allow extra 20 minutes on their Journey because on certain Junctions the speed limit is reduced to 50 mph which will overall affect the journey time. 

 If one chooses to take a taxi from Heathrow Airport to Gatwick then please be sure to allow plenty of time for your trip considering the distance and the traffic.  Most people prefer a private hire car transfer from Heathrow to travel to Gatwick airport as it takes only around 1 hour for the travel and it's both cost-effective and convenient.  Transport to London Heathrow can be done easily through the tube system.   

The tube system is cheaper than the Heathrow Express and the real but it takes a longer time and transport to London Heathrow through the tube is available every few minutes. If you want to have a straightforward trip then a taxi from Heathrow Airport will not be an ideal choice. If you wish to transport to Heathrow by Victoria Coach Station then your journey will approximately take from 40 to 90 minutes depending on the route.   

To travel to Gatwick Airport from Heathrow Airport a private hire car transfer will be the fastest way. 

The M25 Motorway is one of the major circling routes around London. This motorway is one of the most important motorways in the UK.  Any taxi or personal car that you take from Heathrow Airport to travel to Gatwick Airport will mostly take you through the M25 motorway as it's the only motorway that connects all around London. 

Even though M25 is one of the most popular Motorways in the UK it is very insufficient for traffic capacity because of several Junctions.  This is popularly also known as the orbital Motorway of London.

Most of the taxis from the Heathrow Airport are meet and greet as you can find a driver outside the airport.  But the cheapest way to travel Gatwick Airport from Heathrow Airport is not Direct way.  Although taking the bus service from Heathrow Airport to travel Gatwick Airport is the only direct way it's not the cheapest. 

Perhaps the national Express is the cheapest but it's a time consuming option.  Nevertheless, the cheapest way to travel between Gatwick and Heathrow Airport is by underground and bus that way you either get through the national Express London Victoria to Gatwick Airport bus which makes it a lot easier.
